BIENNIAL MÁRIO SILVA PRIZE 2023
This edition will be itinerant, with exhibitions in Figueira da Foz and Lavos.

REGULATIONS
These regulations provide information on the submission of artworks and participation in the collective itinerant exhibition, accepting all artistic expressions, such as Digital Art; Urban Art; Ceramics; Drawing; Watercolor; Sculpture; Engraving; Graffiti; Painting; Tapestry; Design; Photography; Video; Installation, etc. Titled "Mário Silva Biennial Award," it is a tribute to the visual artist Mário Silva.

ARTWORK SUBMISSION
Artworks must be submitted via email to asociacion.aaagp.pt@gmail.com by April 20, 2025. Submissions should include the following:
• An image of the artwork with its details (Title; Technique; Dimensions - height/width; Price).
• The completed “Registration Form.”

DELIVERY DEADLINE
Artworks must be delivered by April 20, 2025 to the following address:
Conceição Ruiva - Centro de Artes e Espetáculos
Rua Abade Pedro 2, 3080-084 Figueira da Foz – PORTUGAL.
Artworks must be properly packaged and accompanied by the Registration Form. They must be in a condition ready for transport and exhibition, including any necessary installation equipment.
• Artworks must be signed on the front and identified on the back.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
• Painting: Dimensions between a minimum of 60x80 cm and a maximum of 1.20m (width) by 2m (height).
• Drawing and Watercolor: Dimensions of 50x70 cm.
• Photography: Proportions of 50x80 cm.
• Sculpture: Any material is acceptable, and there are no size restrictions, but sculptures must be transported and handled by the artist.

INAUGURATION
The exhibition will open on May 3, 2025, at the Centro de Artes e Espetáculos da Figueira da Foz – Sala Zé Penicheiro, at 4:00 PM, featuring a performance by musician Pedro Pinto.
The exhibition will run from May 3 to May 28, 2025.

AWARDING OF COMPETITION WORKS
The jury consists of five members from the arts community: two from AAAGP, two from CMFF, and Mário Silva's son (if available).
• The Mário Silva Award will be presented to the artist whose work is selected by the jury. The prize includes €500 and a trophy valued at approximately €100. The artwork remains the property of the artist.
• The winner's career will be honored, with an invitation to hold a solo exhibition the following year.
• Additional awards include:
o 1st Honorable Mention (Gold): A gold medal and a diploma.
o 2nd Honorable Mention (Silver): A silver medal and a diploma.
o 3rd Honorable Mention (Bronze): A bronze medal and a diploma.
• The four awarded artists will receive a diploma signed by the Jury President and the Commissioner, Conceição Ruiva, President of AAAGP.
• Prizes will be awarded during the collective exhibition inauguration on May 3, 2025, at 4:00 PM.
• All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation, signed by the Commissioner.

PARTICIPATION
Participation is open to non-members of AAAGP (Associação da Amizade e das Artes Galego Portuguesa). Each artist may submit up to two artworks.
• Registration Fee: €50 per artwork. Payment must be made by April 20, 2025, via:

BENEFITS FOR PARTICIPANTS
• Diplomas and Certificate of Participation.
• Promotional leaflet for the Biennial.
• Transport, setup, and dismantling of artworks at the exhibition venues.
• Return of artworks, with shipping costs payable by the recipient.
• Event promotion and communication.
• Opening cocktail.
• Assistance with the sale of artworks, including transaction management and delivery.
• Efforts to promote the acquisition of artworks by third parties (no commission retained by AAAGP).

CONDITIONS
Artworks may not be withdrawn or replaced before the end of the itinerant exhibition in L.E.M – Lavos, on August 31, 2025.
• Artworks not collected on this date will be returned to the artist, with shipping costs payable by the recipient.
• In the event of withdrawal, fees will not be refunded unless justified with documentation. Even then, 30% of the fee will be retained for expenses.
The organization is not responsible for damages, losses, theft, or unforeseen situations but will exercise maximum care in handling the artworks.
The organization reserves the right to decide on omitted cases in this regulation.
